Lord of Darkness is an original mixed-media artwork by Jakub DK (Jakub Krzewniak), combining gothic character art, dark fantasy and a playful approach to horror imagery.

The work presents a mysterious nocturnal figure imagined as a ruler of shadows — sinister in character, but treated with the slightly irreverent humour that runs through many of Jakub DK’s darker works.

Rather than building a conventional horror scene, the artwork focuses on the character itself and the contrast between its dark presence and the aged typography of the page beneath it.

The artwork was created with acrylic paint on a genuine page from The Universal Dictionary of the English Language, originally published in the 1930s. The original typography, natural ageing and imperfections of the vintage paper remain visible and form part of the finished composition.
