Net-Zero Energy is an original surreal figurative painting by Jakub DK (Jakub Dominik Krzewniak), exploring the uneasy relationship between humanity, energy, technology and control.

A solitary nude figure curls into a fetal position inside the glass chamber of an old-fashioned light bulb. Around her, vivid blue electrical discharges break through the darkness, illuminating the body against a restrained palette of sepia, earth tones and deep black.

The familiar light bulb becomes both a vessel and a symbol: a source of energy, an enclosure and a technological object containing something unmistakably human. Rather than presenting a single answer, the painting asks what happens when technological progress, efficiency and systems of control begin to reshape the place of the individual within them.

The vulnerability of the figure contrasts with the violence and intensity of the electrical energy surrounding her. This tension gives the work its dystopian atmosphere while leaving its interpretation open to the viewer.
