Funny Thursday is a one-of-a-kind original mixed media artwork by Jakub DK (Jakub Krzewniak), hand-painted on a genuine vintage English dictionary page from the 1930s.

A strange little gathering of expressive faces, mischievous skulls and quirky characters fills the aged page with humour and controlled chaos. Created as a playful celebration of that Thursday feeling when the weekend is almost within reach, the piece combines dark humour with spontaneous drawing and the character of old printed typography.

Acrylic paint and markers sit directly over an authentic page from The Universal Dictionary of the English Language, allowing fragments of the original text to remain part of the composition. The contrast between the aged paper and contemporary characters makes the work both an original drawing-painting and a small piece of upcycled book art.
