Born To Ride is an original mixed-media artwork by Jakub DK (Jakub Krzewniak), hand-painted directly onto a genuine vintage English dictionary page from the 1930s.

A long-tentacled octopus has apparently decided that life underwater is no longer exciting enough. Wearing a bright yellow motorcycle helmet, this unlikely biker is ready to swap the ocean for the open road.

Combining humour, surreal character design and vintage typography, the artwork brings a playful contemporary image to an authentic page from The Universal Dictionary of the English Language dating from the 1930s.

The piece was created by hand using acrylic paints and markers. The original words and aged surface of the dictionary remain an integral part of the composition, making this a unique, one-of-a-kind artwork rather than a reproduction.
